Eagle Pass High School and CC Winn High school Winter Guards competed at prelims competition this past weekend at Wagner High School. Both schools qualified for state and will compete at State Championships in Kingsville on April 7, 2018. Both groups competed against 18 other teams from the San Antonio/Laredo Area and earned two of the 6 spots that advance to State. The Guards are representing Eagle Pass High School Well.

The Women with Vision Empowerment organization will be hosting another session on Tuesday, January 23, at the Four Seasons Hall located at 2735 North Veterans Boulevard from 12. PM to 1 PM.

2017 saw a decrease in domestic violence arrests and incidents, but assistance and intervention by the Winter Garden Women's Shelter (WGWS) and other agencies remains steady.
During the past fiscal year (Sept to Aug) WGWS saw over 170 cases here locally, an average of 14 cases per month.
