An Eagle Pass man was hit on the head and rendered unconscious before being subsequently robbed of his possessions late on Wednesday.

     According to information gathered from the Eagle Pass Police Department, EPPD officers responded to the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center emergency room in reference to an alleged robbery.

Man attempts theft at Walmart

On Saturday, January 14 at 4:30 p.m., a Eagle Pass Police Officer responded to the Walmart store in reference to theft. The investigating officer was informed of an adult male who had been detained after exiting the store without making any attempt to pay for 26 items in a shopping cart with a combined value of $733.

Arrestada por robar en tienda Walmart

     El martes por la noche, los oficiales de policía de Eagle Pass respondieron a un reporte de una mujer agresiva en la tienda Walmart. In San Antonio, FBI agents have arrested 32-year-old Jason Lynn Hathorn and 30-year-old David Lee Sartin for their alleged role in a bank robbery earlier this month, announced United States Attorney Richard L. Durbin, Jr.; Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Special Agent in Charge Christopher Combs, San Antonio Division; and, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus.

A criminal complaint unsealed in San Antonio charged Hathorn and Sartin with one count of bank robbery.  According to the complaint, on August 8, 2016, a confidential human source identified Sartin as a suspect in four bank robberies in the San Antonio area.  During each robbery, the perpetrator used a unique silicone “old man” mask which the source claimed was similar to one owned by Sartin.  Later that day, an individual wearing the “old man” mask robbed the Amegy Bank of Texas branch on West Military Drive.  The individual left the bank with approximately $8,100 and a surreptitiously placed GPS tracking device.

Man arrested for robbery

The Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to a report of an aggravated robbery at a convenience store located within the 1500 block of El Indio Highway on Thursday, August 4. 

 

Investigating officers were informed of a male individual who entered the store and approached the clerk with a handgun and demanded the money in the register. 

 

Eagle Pass Police Department Criminal Investigators later obtained and served a warrant on 18-year-old Jeremy Simon Garcia. 

 

 

Garcia was presented before a local magistrate and formally charged with aggravated robbery and remanded to the Tom Bowles Detention Center under a $10,000 bond.

Monday, July 11 at 2:23 a.m., Eagle Pass Police Department Patrol Division responded to an alleged assault.

Investigating officers were informed by a 19-year-old male that he had been approached by three men while walking within the 2400 block of Main Street. The complainant informed officers that one of the men brandished an unknown type of handgun toward him and told him to give him his money. The complainant informed officers that he refused the assailant’s order, at which time he alleges he was struck in the head by the assailant causing a laceration. He then turned over his wallet, which contained approximately $200 cash as well as assorted personal documents and identifications, after which the men then fled on foot. The complainant was provided with medical assistance, and a perimeter search was conducted for the assailant and the two other individuals.

EPPD located and detained the assailant and one other individual a short time later.

The assailant, 18-year-old Santiago Guajardo Jr., was presented before a magistrate where he was provided with his constitutional rights and formally charged with aggravated robbery. Guajardo was transferred to the Tom Bowles Detention Center under a $75,000 bond.

El departamento de policía  respondió a un presunto asalto. Agentes investigadores fueron informados de que una persona  de 19 años de edad, que había sido abordado por tres hombres mientras  caminaba por la  Main Street.  El demandante informó a los oficiales de que uno de los hombres un tipo desconocido con una arma de fuego  se dirigio hacia él y le dijo que le diera su dinero. El demandante informó a los oficiales que se negó a la orden del asaltante,  el cual  afirma que fue golpeado en la cabeza por el agresor causandole una cortada. Luego le quito su cartera, que contenía aproximadamente $200 en efectivo, así como una variedad de documentos personales e identificaciones, después  los hombres huyeron a pie. La persona recibió asistencia médica, y la búsqueda se llevó a cabo. El agresor y otro individuo fueron detenido poco tiempo después.

 Santiago Guajardo Jr., de 18 años de edad fue presentado ante un juez en la que se proporcionó a sus derechos constitucionales y formalmente acusado de robo agravado. Guajardo fue trasladado al centro de detención bajo una fianza de $75,000.
