The cheers from the stands and the hundreds of Facebook likes helped bolster a prepared and powerful group unto making history once more for their school, and their town. 

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — A historic Texas military band is preparing to play its final note. The 323rd Army Band at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio is one of four bands nationwide being deactivated next year.

The Memorial Junior High Band Program has had another successful year, performing in everything from pep rallies and football games, to competitions throughout the year.
