The United States Border Patrol rescued a female adult and her 11-month-old child from the Rio Grande River on Tuesday, May 7, 2019.
The female and her child were spotted floating down the river in an area in proximity to International Bridge No. 2.
Border Patrol agents proceeded to summon Eagle Pass Fire Department Emergency Personnel to evaluate the child and mother before transporting them to the BP station.
Emergency Medical Service Personnel arrived at the scene and evaluated the mother and child who did not require any further medical assistance.
Border Patrol agents continue seeing this type of scenarios on a daily basis as an increase of illegal crossings has been ongoing for the past months.
