In the Steer category, Janel Ramos’s steer was chosen as and Grand Champion and was purchased by the Nevarez Law Group for $14,000 during the auction event. Reserve Champion honors went to Robert Medina’s steer that was bought by the Herring Law Firm, Weinberg & Weinberg Law for $6,500. In the lamb category, the Grand Champion was presented by Orlando Molina and purchased by Danny’s Western Wear for $10,500. The Reserve Champion Lamb, presented by Jose Sameniego, was sold to Ancira Ford of Eagle Pass for $7,000. The Grand Champion Dog was exhibited by Alyssa Duran and sold for a record-breaking $21,000 to the Rodriguez Law Firm. This year’s Reserve Champion Hog ribbon was awarded to Sophia Rodriguez’s project, which was purchased by IBC Bank for $7,500. In the goat category, Samantha Molina was presented with the Grand Champion award which sold for $9,000 to Neutze Minit Mart. Daniela Molina’s goat was awarded Reserve Champion honors and sold to Neutze Minit Mart for $6,500.
Other breed and division champions crowned included Tayler Gloria’s American Braed Champion Steer, Pablo de La Garza’s American Reserve Breed Champ Steer, and Anai Molina Finewool Breed Champion Lamb. There were 160 animal projects that were exhibited and put up for sale during the annual Livestock Show event.
