The Maverick County Junior Livestock Association held the 4th annual Muy Grande BBQ Cook-Off this past weekend, in which over 77 participating groups competed for bragging rights and a share of $10,000 in prizes.
The event was attended by thousands of people who enjoyed the festive atmosphere - which included musical entertainment, food booths, vendors and barbecue cook-offs for adults and children as well.
Jonathan Maurer and members of the Maverick County Junior Livestock Association thanked everyone who participated and attended, and proceeded to present the winners of this year’s cook-off.
Mistress of Ceremony Sandra Ruiz announced the winners by category; including in the best Brisket, Pork Spare Ribs, Half Chicken, Jackpot Beef Fajitas, Beans and overall categories.

Chicken Category; 1st Place ~ Tommy Smith / Bent Nail BBQ, 2nd Place ~ Grady Speed / Grade A BBQ,
