LAREDO, Texas - The U.S. Border Patrol is investigating a chase in South Texas involving its agents that a TV station reports left one person dead and 10 injured.
Border Patrol said in a statement that agents from the Laredo North station observed a suspicious vehicle on Interstate 35 around 5:30 p.m. Sunday and attempted to stop it. The statement says the vehicle failed to yield to emergency lights. As it attempted to avoid a tire-deflation device, the driver lost control, causing it to roll over. TV station KGNS, citing authorities, reports one person was pronounced dead at the scene about 37 miles north of Laredo, and 10 people were transported with injuries.
It wasn't immediately clear if all those injured were in the car that rolled over.
