COPPELL, Texas (AP) —

Retail gasoline prices across Texas have risen 8 cents this week to reach an average $2.25 per gallon.

AAA Texas on Thursday reported that compares with an 11-cent jump nationwide to push the overall cost per gallon to $2.45.

The association reports Beaumont and Houston have the cheapest gasoline statewide this week at $2.21 per gallon. Drivers in Amarillo and Corpus Christi are facing the most expensive gasoline in Texas at an average $2.28 per gallon .

AAA analysts say significant price jumps in West Coast markets due to refinery outages and operational issues have kept pressure on prices. Retail gasoline prices also tend to rise this time of year as refineries nationwide do planned seasonal maintenance that can limit production.
