Recent Mexican legislation is affording Mexican investors and companies the opportunity to engage in Eagle Ford Shale Play. As such, business leaders and politicians from Mexico are eager to gather in San Antonio for the Third Annual Eagle Ford Consortium Conference at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, 200 E. Market St., April 21 through 23.

“Mexican energy reform has created a unique business opportunity that we want to explore. The Eagle Ford Shale is known all over the world for how it is revolutionizing the world of energy,” said Manuel Manzanilla Velásquez, owner and CEO of Trev-on Industrial Solutions in Mexico.

Manzanilla is also a panelist with current and former Mexican politicians on the breakout session regarding Mexico shale play. He said this conference is important for participants on both sides of the Rio Grande, and is particularly encouraging business leaders from Mexico to attend.

“We will engage with Eagle Ford Shale leaders as well as international businesses that already have presence in the shale play. We will be able to establish commercial credibility and exchange culture and ideas,” said Manzanilla.

The Conference focuses on creating and maintaining sustainable oil and gas communities in the Eagle Ford Shale. More than 1,000 key leaders in community, industry, education, business and workforce development contacts are expected to gather for the Conference.

High-caliber political, academic and private sector specialists will provide a forum for discussion.

Among those scheduled to appear are Red McCombs Enterprises Owner Red McCombs, President North America Shale Production BHP Billiton Petroleum Rod Skaufel, Chairman of the Texas Water Development Board Carlos Rubinstein, ConocoPhillips’ Unconventional Reservoirs Technology Program General Manager Greg Leveille, San Antonio Mayor Julián Castro, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Chairman Dr. Bryan W. Shaw and many others.

The Eagle Ford Consortium represents 20 South Texas counties who collaborate, partner and address the community realities that will be a result of the Eagle Ford Shale oil and gas exploration and plans for the sustainable future of those communities.
