"She was like, 'Well this guy right here has been hitting on me, telling me you aren't treating me right and that he'll treat me right,' so I said, 'If that's what you really want'," he tells a dispatcher.

                 He also told the dispatcher the 30-year-old Lambert was drunk, dressed in high heels and a "really cute" dress and didn't have her phone, ID or purse with her.

                Lambert was visiting Earley, an oil field worker, when the two argued and then got into a physical fight in a Carlsbad motel room, a police detective said in an affidavit.

                 Police say Earley later told investigators he had knocked Lambert unconscious and took her to a rural area near Carlsbad. According to an affidavit, Earley struck her with an air pump and then used a rope and his car to drag her body behind a barn.

                 Lambert's body was found Wednesday, wearing only a bra, on private property next to a sheet metal barn. She was located after a lengthy missing persons search.

                Earley is charged with murder and tampering with evidence and is being held in lieu of $1 million bond.

It was not known if Earley has an attorney.

                 Lambert was a first-grade math and science teacher for the Richardson Independent School District at a school in Garland, and she was completing her first year of teaching, district spokesman Tim Clark said.
