The Eagle Pass High School Softball team played their eighth game of their district season on Tuesday March 26th, 2014 against the Laredo United South Panthers where they had another blow out game winning 10-0 and ending the game with the 10-run-rule.
The Lady Eagles quickly put away the Lady Panthers at the top of the 1st inning and scored their first run due to a sacrificial steal by #11 Melanie Mendoza. They scored 4 more runs at the bottom of the second with a great triple hit by #8 Vivian Ramirez who brought in 2 of those runs bringing the count up to 6-0 for the Lady Eagles. Scoring 1 run at the bottom of the 3rd and another in the 4th inning with a homerun hit to left field, also by Vivian Ramirez, the Lady Eagles were up 8-0 going into the fifth inning. The Eagles finished the game at the bottom of the 5th due to the 10 run rule with two players left on base.
The lady Eagles, now 8-0, will be playing LBJ Lady Wolves at the Laredo Student Activities Center on Friday March 28th.

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) —
The Dallas Cowboys have filed a complaint against Jay Ratliff and are seeking compensation from the defensive lineman.
Ratliff was sidelined last season while recovering from a sports hernia that required surgery. He was placed on the physically unable to perform list, but when he told the Cowboys he was not physically able to play, they released him in October.

There was an exciting match at the Eagle Pass Student Activities Center on Tuesday night as the Lady Eagles and the Lady Mavericks met on the softball field to battle it out for district. The Eagles defeated the Mavericks 5-3 for their 6th district win of the season.

On Friday March 7, 2014, the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activities Complex hosted the third district game for the Eagle Pass High School Lady Eagles Softball team. The team, who was already sporting a 2-0 record, defeated the Laredo LBJ Wolves in a 10-0 blowout.

Gene Flores' CC Winn Mavericks were in Austin over the weekend participating in the Austin ISD Tournament and came away with a 15-7 victory over the Austin Akins Eagles. Jesus Medellin was on the mound for the Mavericks and he got in trouble early hitting the leadoff hitter followed by an error on the third baseman, an error on the first baseman and a passed ball to give up three early runs to the Eagles, but Medellin came back and struck out the four and five hitters and got a fly to rangy left fielder Ricardo Gonzalez to end the inning. The Mavs responded with two big innings with hits by Isaac Banda, a double by Joseph Villarreal and hits by Gonzalez and big Eric Perez to go up 8-3. Rica Gonzalez went 3 for 3 with a double an RBI sacrifice fly and another RBI single in the fifth as the Mavs scattered seven more runs in the fourth and fifth innings to win the game 15-7.
