The CC Winn High School golf teams, under the direction of Head Coach Pat Hernandez and Assistant Coaches Jaime Flores and Juan Antonio Tovar are ready for the 2016- 2017 season. With 10 girls and 9 boys making up the team, the Mavericks and Lady Mavericks golf teams are making quite an impression and are eager and ready to make this a memorable year.
The girls made their first appearance at the Welaco ISD Varsity girls golf tournament at Tierra Santa Golf Club on October 28 and 29 with 13 teams from the valley participating. They were paired up Edinburgh High, Economedes, Donna North in the first day of competition.

The CC Winn Mavericks will face the Corpus Christi Carroll Tigers Friday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the D.W. Rutledge Stadium in Converse, Texas.
Head Football Coach Eric Villaseñor said the team is ready for what they anticipate will be a very physical game.

The Eagle Pass High School Eagles ended their season in a 24-17 loss to long-time rivals the Del Rio Rams at Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium Friday night.
The Eagle Pass High School celebrated the crowning of their Homecoming Royal Court including Homecoming King and Queen Samantha Vielma and Chance Rodriguez.
At halftime the Eagles and Rams were all tied up at 14 a piece but the Rams were able to control the game and started to pull away from the Eagles with a field goal making the score 17-14 with 8 minutes to go in the third quarter.
Eagles Cross Country team recently competed at the Region IV Championship in Corpus Christi, where the Varsity boys were able to advance to the State Championship for the 6th time in seven years, and the 8th time in school history.
The boys placed 4th out of 24 teams fighting to compete at a statewide level.
The C.C. Winn Mavericks are set to match-up against the Uvalde Coyotes Thursday night in a critical game for the Mavs, after falling short this past Friday in Floresville against the Tigers losing a tough contest 20 to 16.
The EPHS Cross Country team has made school history by winning both the girls and boys district championship at the District 29-6A Championship Meet held on Saturday at Southwest High School in San Antonio, Tx.
The C.C. Winn Mavericks defeated the Harlandale Indians 27 to 24 on Friday October 21, 2016. The win solidifies a first-ever post season playoff spot for the Mavericks as they are on a tear against district opponents with a 3-0 record.
The Eagle Pass High School Eagles traveled to Laredo this past Saturday October 23, 2016 to face the United Longhorns. The Eagles had a losing effort against United, 48 to 7.
C.C. Winn High School hosted their Cross Country Invitational on Thursday October 13, 2016. In the boys division Eagles Pass High School Eagles ranked first with a total of 22 team points. C.C. Winn finished in second place with 56 points and rounding off the top three teams was Floresville High School with 88 points. Top Eagle runners included Nathan Kowalski who finished 1st place over all, Miguel Huitron who was in second place over all and Sergio Hernandez finished in third overall. Arturo Valdez, Homar Perez, Jacob Smith and Diego Solis rounded off the top Eagle runners.
