Eagle Pass
The Eagle Pass Police Department acquired a new official K-9 officer, a canine which will serve in upgrading security and vigilance in our community. Chief of Police Antonio Castañeda, informed The News Gram this morning that officers will be traveling to Austin to transport the dog who has been extensively educated and trained to function in many ways which can assist a police force. The cost of these animals can be up to $8,000.00 and the City already has other canines which belong to the Labrador species which are very useful for various types of investigations.

El departamento de Policía de Eagle Pass adquirió un nuevo oficial canino (k-9) que servirá para incrementar la seguridad y vigilancia en la comunidad. El Jefe de Policía, Juan Antonio Castañeda, informó que esta misma semana oficiales de policía viajarán hasta una población cerca de Austin, Texas, para tomar posesión del perro que esta completamente educado y adiestrado para realizar labores de apoyo a la corporación policiaca. El precio de estos animales puede ser de 8 mil dólares, y el departamento de policía ya cuenta con otros oficiales caninos de la raza Labrador que son muy útiles para diversas investigaciones.
Del Rio Border Patrol agents rescued victim from Rio Grande

Del Rio Border Patrol agents received information of a possible drowning victim being drifted away by the water currents of the Rio Grande River, approximately one mile north of the Del Rio Port of Entry. Del Rio Station Border Patrol agents responded and rescued an unconscious woman who was clinging to the cane along the U.S. river bank. The woman was evaluated and immediately transferred over to Del Rio Emergency Medical Services who then transported her to Val Verde Regional Medical Center for medical attention before being released to the custody of the Border Patrol.
