In an attempt to increase distribution rates by American Electric Power (AEP), Eagle Pass City Council voted against a resolution to amend cost recovery factors to increase said rates.

AEP, continued to work on several scattered outages across the Texas border region throughout Tuesday evening, including in Maverick County where up to 825 homes lost power on Monday, January 1, 2018. 

Students at Nellie Mae Glass Elementary were dismissed early on Thursday morning due to a power outage at the school leaving the entire campus in the dark for several hours.
