Coach Eric Villasenor comes from a football family. His brother Rene Villasenor played football at Eagle Pass High, and his father Oki Villasenor coached at Eagle Pass High. Both are great supporters of what Coach Villasenor has done for the C.C. Winn Mavericks program.

Laredo United Lady Longhorns traveled into Eagle Pass Tuesday afternoon as the Lady Mavericks played host.
The Eagle Pass High School cross country varsity girls team came in first place on Saturday, September 2, at the Donna Invitational in Donna, TX.

The C.C. Winn Mavericks suffered a 20-13 loss last Friday against the 2016 bi-district 4-A champs Crystal City Javelinas. C.C. Winn celebrated Parent’s Night as part of Friday night’s festivities and gave parents the opportunity to walk onto the field with their student athletes while being congratulated for their efforts by C.C. Winn school administrators.

For small town USA, high school football is more than meeting up after the game at the coffee shop or barber. Friday night fans in Castroville, Texas were treated to a football game that had both home fans and the visiting Eagle Pass Eagles fans on the edge of their seats. The Eagles had the game in hand for the better part of three quarters, and the defensive wheels came off to again lose in the closing seconds of the game with the final score of Eagles 27, Medina Valley 28.
