Approximately 25 boys and girls participated in a basketball clinic hosted by the Parks and Recreation Department and organized by Mr. Juan Cuellar. The future basketball standouts went through an NBA sanctioned video-assisted regimen which worked on their ball handling, lay ups, proper shooting techniques, passing, rebounding and defensive stance skills, according to Recreational Specialist Ricky Gutierrez. "We used a video we obtained from the NBA which is called Jr. NBA," added Gutierrez who could be seen monitoring the players as they executed the individual skills they were working on at the time, "It was really interactive as they would watch the video instruction and the demonstration of proper technique, then they would transfer that learning back to the court."
