All District selections have ben released and receiving 1st Team honors are Ari Ruiz of CC Winn and Brianna Carreon of Eagle Pass.

Ruiz has gotten her second nod from the District 29-AAAAA committee as she was Newcomer of the Year last season.

Carreon, a fiery player with good ball handling skills, was also named First Team all-District.

Lady Maverick standouts Nelly Cedillo and fellow Super Senior Stephanie Gonzales deservedly made the 2nd Team for their exceptional contribution, leadership and the continuation of their efficiency from last season where they also received All-District recognition.  Cedillo was always there to attack the basket aggressively and provide quality defense and Gonzalez always impressed with her Regional caliber leaping abilities.  It was a sight to see her use that vertical to snag balls straight out of the air on both the offensive and defensive boards.

Lady Eagle Sophia Gomez was named Honorable Mention along with junior Jennifer Rodriguez and Amanda Maldonado of Winn HIgh.

Daniela Garza, Gomez and Carreon all made the All-Academic Team.
