Anissa Salazar started things off with a leadoff double, then Kayla Sifuentes singled putting runners on first and third. Ari Soto came in and got a hit into left field and brought in Salazar, Sifuentes came in to score on a wild pitch and the Lady Mavs led 2-0 after one.
Escamilla struck out two in the first three innings and gave up a hit, but came out unscathed. In the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Mavericks scored two when Ari Soto doubled into left field, followed by a single by her sister Briana to plate another run. Thiana Reyes then singled to bring in Briana to make the score 4-0.
The Hawks scored one in the fourth when Alyssa Osborn singled into left, then Kayla Vasquez singled into center to plate the first run for SA, 4-1 after four.
Then in the fifth Mia Uriegas homered into right center to put the Mavericks up 5-1.
In the sixth, Kiana Diaz singled up the middle and Salazar doubled; scoring Diaz, then Ari Soto got a base hit to the right side plating Salazar for the seventh Mav run.
The Hawks scored another run in the seventh but it was a little too little and a little too late, and the Mavericks took the 7-2 victory.
