a local group of Brothers in Christ, are planning their 5th annual golf tournament to be held on May 4th here at the Eagle Pass Municipal Golf Course.
The News Gram caught with Claudio Heredia, who informed us of the preparations for the event and who also extends an invitation to all avid golfers to participate in one of the best organized tournaments of the year. “It’s our 5th annual event and it’s for a worthy cause,” stated the local attorney, “We’re in the process of planning the building of a spiritual retreat center for our community and surrounding cities.
This tournament’s been one of the most popular ones in the history of our city.” The tournament itself has great incentives for local golfers, such as four $1,500 holes in which four sharp shooters can take home much more than they paid to enter the event, “The entry fee is $175 per player, however you have the opportunity to win $1,500 or $500 on these holes, which are Holes 1 or 10, Holes 9 or 18 and the picturesque Hole #8 for the whopping prize of $1,500 for whoever lands closest to the pin. “So we welcome golfers from everywhere to participate and welcome the general public to come and watch these golfers compete at the highest levels and to
join us on the day of the tournament.” Hiredia said that there are also various door prizes to be won for many the participants such as golf clubs, golf bags and other
accessories.
“More than anything it’s the fun and the first class service from our members. We’re very blessed and put out word for our Brothers in Christ and we have anywhere from 35 to 40 volunteers. It’s a very well organized
event. We feed the players a continental breakfast as well as a fine meal when they finish their round.” The fee for the tournament is $175 and players are allowed two mulligans, so tee it high and let it fly for a very good cause on May 4th!
