Ana Lopez went 2 for 4 to help lift CC Winn over Antonian on Monday in San Antonio by a score of 3-1. Lopez had two hits and scored twice and Thiana Reyes brought in two RBI’s for the Silver and Black, scoring once in a tight game with Ariana Soto in the circle. The Indians scored their lone run in the fourth when Layrn Sanchez hit and scored on a fielder’s choice by Rexene Limon. Sam Stephens was in the circle for Antonian. Last Friday, the Lady Mavericks squared off with the Southwest Dragons in a District 28- AAAAA affair at the SAC.
The Dragons unloaded on Soto in the first with a five run barrage on one hit, three walks, a sacrifice bunt, and a costly error to put the visitors up 5-0.
The Green and Black would add two more runs in the fourth, when Aaliyah Ortiz drew another walk followed by a double by shortstop Haven Lopez. Another base on balls to Cassandra Rodriguez set the stage for two drives in the final Southwest run, 7-0 Dragons. The Lady Mavericks would answer back in their half of the fourth with two runs, one by Rhianna Reyes and one by Ariana Soto. Anissa Salazar would walk and score in the fifth on a double by Reyes to cap off the scoring and the Mavericks would fall 7-3.
