Aybar started the scoring in the first inning with a single left off of Onasis Sirret, to drive in Cade Gotta, who opened with a double. A wild pitch would allow the Dominican to score the second run for La Maquina Azul. In the second inning, Aybar had Rubén Rivera and Ricky Rodríguez in scoring position and brought them home with a two out single to center field.
Romario Gil, the starter for the Acereros, pitched two innings to six batters with a strikeout, allowing one hit and got the benefit of a double play. Juan Pablo Téllez followed and threw two innings, striking out two and allowing no runs.
The Broncos scored in the fourth when Alvaro Rondon opened up the inning with a single to right, and came in to score on another hit by Domingo Castro. Julian Castañeda drove in the other run for the local team with a single to right center bringing in Sergio Soliz in the sixth.
Devon Torres came in on the third, pitching four and two-thirds, allowing one run, two hits with three strikeouts in an impressive pitching performance. Leo Montalvo also threw two strong innings in relief, striking out catcher Cesar Tapia with a man on third.
Overall it was a strong showing by the local team and the Acereros will consider coming back next year according to sources, possibly with another team in tow, the Saraperos de Saltillo.
