Ariana Soto in the circle against Blanca Sanchez for the Titans in a game not for the faint of heart, as the Silver & Black returned home with a tough 12-11 victory.
Soto got on on a fielder’s choice and Briana Soto - along with Kayla Sifuentes - drew walks in the top of the first inning and Thiana Reyes and Ana Lopez drove them in for the first three runs of the game.
But the Titans would answer right back with three runs of their own when Yliana Kuykendall doubled to left, Alyssa Peña was hit by a pitch, Ariana Elizondo reached on an error and Juliana Garza doubled to the right field corner plating three runs.
Martha Garcia walked and Sifuentes singled to center in the top half of the second to make the score 4-3 and the Soto sisters kept the Titans at bay to take the lead into the third when Ariana Benavides walked and scored Garcia, reached and scored and Ariana Soto hit a three-run homer to left center to put the Mavs up 7-3.
She would keep Southwest Legacy cool in the third and fourth, holding her opponents scoreless.
The Titans would wake up in the fifth adding two runs, two more in the sixth and four in the seventh, but CC Winn would score two more in the fourth when Reyes singled up the middle and Benavides walked. Anissa Salazar’s tworun single made the score 9-3, then in the seventh, Soto aided her own cause by doubling into center, followed by a two-run home run by sister Briana to tie the game at 11.
Then Thiana Reyes reached on a fielder’s choice and was brought in by Kiana Diaz , who singled into right field winning the game and sealing the proverbial deal.
