After senior night

festivities, CC Winn took a

senior heavy approach to

their lineup with Eduardo

Nava, Germán Velasquez,

Juan Cardenas, and Braulio

Caballero leading the way.

“We had a slow start

to the first quarter, but really

got rolling,” said Coach

Paulo Valero, “We went on a

24-4 run, outscoring Harlan

32-19 in 16 minutes of

action.” Unfortunately, a

bad 1st quarter doomed the

Mavericks and the uphill

climb was too much, and

Harlan was able to come

away with a 46-67 win.

The Mavericks were led by

Junior Diego Rodriguez,

who led the team in scoring

with 14 points, 4 rebounds

and 2 assists, all while

guarding their 6'8" center.

Senior Juan Cardenas had

the game of his life, hitting 2

key 3s while hitting Jairo

Maldonado for a key assist

in the 2nd quarter to get the

Mavericks rolling.

Sophomore Alex Rodriguez

hit 2 deep 3s on 3 attempts

finishing with 7 points.

Senior Eduardo Nava

capped off his career with 3

points while Senior Germán

Velasquez finished with 2

points and Braulio Caballero

capped off his career with a

huge block on their center,

who was attempting to go up

for the dunk.

The Mavericks shot over

90% from the line hitting

16/17, led by junior Moe

Gaytan who went a perfect 8

for 8 from the line. His running

mate Jairo Maldonado

finished 4/4 from the line.

The Mavericks will

hit the off-season running

with key testing, fundamentals,

and adjustments to both

their offense and defense.
