"We've improved each week. We're healthy, winning some ball games, so it's going well," said Coach Elliot.
The Dragons knocked off LBJ 35-8 and United 35-29 where junior Quarterback Damien Lopez scored once and senior Running Back Sean Ruiz scored twice.
On offense, Coach Elliot also mentioned 5' 10" 180 Lb. senior Running Back Martin Torres and 5' 11" 300 Lb. senior Center Josh Martinez.
On defense, he singled out junior 6' 0" 185 Lb. Safety Cade Stott and 5' 11", 240 Lb. senior Linebacker Boston Crisp.
When asked about their next opponent, Coach Elliot said, "Eagle Pass is a good team, they have obviously won a bunch of games. Coach Gonzalez is a first class guy and they are always a challenge when we play one of his teams."
Coach Elliot is in his second season at Southwest after a four year stint at New Braunfels Canyon, and the Dragons have made the state playoffs every year he has been there going as far as the third round twice.
