The McCollum Cowboys are coming to town this Thursday, and while they are coming into Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium without a victory, they have run through a serious gauntlet of talent prior to beginning District 29-AAAAA play.

The Cowboys have faced South San, who will be here on Friday night to play Eagle Pass, Central Catholic who knocked off the Mavericks two weeks ago, Zadok Dinkelman's Somerset Bulldogs, the Clark Cougars and the San Marcos Rattlers.

"We're coming off our bye week," said Head Coach Gregory Felix, "We are preparing and working to get healthy. We need to get ready for this week's game."

They will come into this Thursday night's game with 5'9" 160 Lb. senior Running Back Jonathan Handy along with 6' 1" junior Wide Receiver Eric Leija. Their Quarterback is freshman Ryan Ramirez (5' 9", 180 Lbs.).

On defense, the Cowboys will bring 5' 10", 315 pound Defensive Lineman John Treviño, 5' 9", 175 Lb. Linebacker Sergio Martinez and senior 6' 0" 160 Lb. Defensive Back Jesse Puente.

When asked about their opponents, Coach Felix had the following to say, "Coach Villaseñor and his staff have done a great job with that team. They went three rounds deep last season. Their record is no indication of how good they are. We're going to have to find a way to contain their quarterback as that seems to be their go-to guy so we'll have to try to disrupt some things they do on offense. As far as we're concerned, we have to be consistent on how we move the ball."
