Laredo United Lady Longhorns traveled into Eagle Pass Tuesday afternoon as the Lady Mavericks played host.

Under the direction of Head Coach Corina Benavidez the Lady Mavericks were looking to get back on track after losing four out of their last five matches.

The Lady Mavericks were able to bounce back into the win column beating Carrizo Springs 3 games to 1 on Friday.  For the second time in as many matches the Lady Mavericks fall to their opponent in straight games 3-0.

In game 1, Laredo United's serves were able to keep the Lady Mavericks offense off balance as #5 Daniela Mares was the key Lady Longhorn scoring 17 out of the 25 points to carry them to victory.  Unable to break serve in game one the Lady Mavericks found themselves down 1-0.

Out of the gate in game 2, Middle Blocker Sophomore #11 Lauren Arzuaga and lefty right-side hitter #10 Carolina Medellin for Laredo United kept C.C. Winn Outside hitter #7 Marty Martinez and #11 Kim Rodriguez at bay.  United opened an 11-4 lead before coach benavidez called time-out.  The Lady Mavericks came back to make a game of it as they got to within 8 points 22-13.  Late in game two coach asked for another time-out to regroup but United came back strong to finish the game 25-16.

For the Lady Mavericks, Libero #3 Kayla Cantu made her presence felt on the court.  Cantu had 9 points overall from the service line.  United finished the match taking game 3 25-15, as the Lady Mavericks could not mount a comeback.

The Lady Mavericks will be on the road Friday in Poteet at 6:30 p.m.
