The CC Winn Maverick Track Team is making significant strides in tough events and sending a good crew of runners, jumpers and field events to Area competition this week.

The third place team of the Mens 4X100 Meter Relay from Eagle Pass Winn  who turned in a 44.76 were Mariano Hernandez, Alexander Reyna, Marc Reyna and Luis Rodriguez.

The Mens 4X200 Meter Relay of , Xavier Cerezo , Alonso Vallejo,  Gilbert Guerra and Luis Rodriguez came in 8th with a 1:36.95.

The highlight of the event was the Mens 4X400 Meter Relay Team  of Mariano Hernandez, Alexander Reyna, Marc Reyna and Miguel Rendon who wowed the crowd and turned in a magnificent 3:28.42 to win the event.

In the Mens Pole Vault Thomas Guidry of Uvalde jumped a 12-00.00 Omar Hinojosa of Eagle Pass Winn had an impressive 11-06.00 and Eulicez Gonzalez of San Antonio Southside lived up to his name vaulting 11-00.00.

In the Mens Long Jump Luis Olvera placed 8th with a 19-03.50 and Alonso Vallejo placed 12th with a 18-11.50

In the Mens Triple Jump Alexander Reyna came in 6th with a 39-07.00 while brother Marc Reynaturned in a 12th place 36-00.00.

In the Mens Shot Put Carlos Tijerina came in 4th with a 43-04.00, but he won the Mens Discus Throw with a State caliber 146-07 Joe Rodriguez of Eagle Pass Winn placed 13th with his 109-02.

Area begins today in San Antonio.
