The EPJ 7th Boys Basketball team got off to an impressive start this season as they completely dominated the Del Rio Rams in their first two encounters.
On November 19, the Eagles kicked off their season by surprising the Del Rio home crowd as they rolled past the Rams with a White Team (34-20) victory and a (63-25) Orange Team blowout.
Only a few days later, on November 23, the Rams visited EPJH and left home disappointed as the Eagles showed they were too much to handle when they added another two wins to their records.
Del Rio fought hard the entire first half, but the Eagles controlled the 3rd and 4th quarters of both games. Eagles White improved their record to 2-0 as they added another (48-18) victory to their resume, and the Orange Team followed by blasting past the Rams in another (62-25) blowout victory, improving their record to 2-0 as well.
According to Coach R. Rodriguez all players made significant contributions as they showed they can play as a team on both occasions.
He added by stating that the young and very talented EPJ Eagles will continue to work hard as they plan to add to their success when they travel to Laredo on Dec. 2 to tangle with United Day. Following that encounter, EPJ will head into the Melba Rivera Tournament on December 4-5, 2015, a challenge they are looking forward to as well. Congratulations to all the players and families. Go Eagles!!!
