The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles made it three in a row on Tuesday Night with a big five set victory over the Laredo United Lady Longhorns in the Gateway City.

Coach Lucy Hooper's charges dropped the first two sets 24-26 and 15-25 then stormed back 25-22, 28-26 and 15-10 to notch their third district victory in a row to improve to 3-1 in District 29-AAAAA play.

Coach Hooper was thrilled after the quality win on the road in what had to have been a hostile environment in the confines of the United Gym.

"It was a team effort and I'm REALLY proud of our girls," she posted on the way back from Laredo, "It was a nail biter!"

On Saturday, The Lady Eagles hosted LBJ at the EPISD Sports Complex and came away with their second consecutive win.

"Our girls served very well which helped to take away any offense LBJ was trying to generate," added Coach Hooper, "In general, our defense has been sound and has kept teams honest."

She mentioned that Lynced Torres has been a dominating force on defense especially against The Wolverines.

Last Tuesday, The Lady Eagles came away with a three set win over United South and served extremely well serving up 12 uncontested aces.  Eagle Pass' front line of Aiden Garcia, Lauren McGehee and Karina Yebra provided the necessary firepower to vanquish the Lady Panthers with 23, 12 and 12 kills respectively combined with an incredible 42 assists by Kamille Donley and 35 digs by Torres, the Eagles cruised to the win.

The Lady Eagles ore open this coming Tuesday and are preparing to take on the Del Rio Queens on Saturday at the Sports Complex.
