Not too long ago, Coach Gaby Belmonte was banging around tennis facilities across the whole of South Texas behind a gritty old coach who wanted nothing other than his charges to compete and let their opponents know that whoever laced them up against Eagle Pass was going to know they played a well coached, well prepared squad and this year was no different as now Coach Juarez took her thirty or so participants to the 2015 Border Blast Team Tennis Tournament and came back with gold.

First place finishes by the likes of Jacob Wright, Briana Baca, Edwin Pua, and Paola Chavarria who won singles championships helped Juarez to garner a first place finish with 49 big points to Del Rio's 25 and Uvalde's 15.

EPJ 2000 took 29 participants who competed in five divisions in both 7th and 8th grades where four of the championship matches involved all EPJ Eagle tennis players.

Individual results were as follows: Jacob Wright won 8th grade boys singles while Briana Baca took 8th grade girls singles.

In 7th grade boys singles it was Edwin Pua taking first place along with Paola Chavarria who won the 7th grade girls singles title.

Sophie Gracia won 1st place consolation in 7th grade girls singles.

RJ Aguirre came in 2nd in 8th grade boys singles.

Savannah Moreno also placed 2nd in 8th grade girls singles along with seventh grader Matias Baima who placed 2nd at the 7th grade level in boys singles.

In doubles, Bryan Torralba and Jacob Alvarez took first place in 8th grade boys doubles while Eagle Pass' answer to the Bryan Brothers, Jose & Luis Fernadez placed 2nd in 8th grade boys doubles.  8th graders Sebastian Gutierrez and Sergio Carranco won 1st place consolation in this event.

In 8th grade girls doubles, it was Hannah Moreno and Rebecca Moran taking 3rd while Sylvia Lopez and Marianelly Garza took 1st place consolation honors.
