 Lady Mavericks

  

C.C. Winn High School’s varsity volleyball game swept San Antonio Memorial in three straight games on Tuesday, by scores of 25-18, 25-11 and 25-15. Individual statistics: Caridad Garcia - eight kills, two assists, four aces, eight digs and 12 points.

Priscilla Perez - six kills and six points. Karla Lopez - five Kills and five points. Abigail Gonzalez - three kills, 15 assists, an ace, seven digs and four points. Ariana Ruiz - one kill, 10 assists, four aces, a dig and five points. Rosemary Hernandez - one kill, an ace, nine digs and two points. Alexis Padilla - one kill, eight digs and three points. Noemi Gutierrez - three digs and five points. Jennifer Rodriguez - a kill and a point. Also on the team are Michelle Franco and Maria Duran. The Lady Mavericks varsity, junior varsity and freshmen volleyball teams visit Hondo at 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday. All three teams commence their District 29-5A schedules by visiting Del Rio at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 8.

 

Lady Eagles

 

Eagle Pass High School’s varsity volleyball team won its opening round game on Friday at a tournament being hosted by Laredo United High School this weekend. The Lady Eagles defeated Laredo Nixon 25-17 and 25-16 on Friday morning. Individual statistics: Aiden Garcia - three points, 10 kills, a block, an assist and 16 digs. Lauren McGehee - three kills, seven assists and four digs. Sandra Mendoza - five points, an ace, three kills and 10 digs. Lynced Torres - four points and seven digs. Jamie Donley - six pts, 13 assists and three digs. Karina Yebra - four points, an ace, nine kills, an assist and three digs. Camille Pina - four points and two digs. Vivian Ramirez - four kills, a block and a dig. Riane Garcia - a kill and an assist.   EPHS’s varsity, junior varsity and freshmen volleyball teams host Crystal City at 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Tuesday.  All three teams begin their District 29-5A schedule by hosting Laredo Alexander at 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 8 – with the varsity and junior varsity teams playing at the EPISD Student Activity Center and the freshmen playing at the high school gym.
