The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles traveled to the Alamo City to participate in the prestigious Alamo Relays and came away with a hard-fought third place finish, but not before they exemplified the heart of a champion in several key events.
The 4X400 relay team of Ruby Briones. Valerya Galindo, Monica Rivera and Jeorgina Jimenez turned in a winning time of 4:06.36 to take first place in the vent garnering 20 very valuable team points in the process.  Christina Lozano was the alternate in that event.
Briones outdid the competition in the grueling 800 meters winning the event with a 2:25.63 while teammate Monica Rivera placed fourth with a razor-sharp 2:26.28.
Jezabelle Rodriguez showed her state qualifying long distance form by winning the 1600 meter run with a 5:29.06 and then did the same in the equally grueling 3200 meter run with an 11:54.13 showing the class of runners we have in Juan Gonzalez' program.
The Lady Eagles came in behind SA Warren and San Antonio Steele in the overall standings.
