This past Saturday March 28, 2015 the Drug-Free Youth away. The league is way that the youth of Eagle Pass and the surrounding communities can participate in a healthy activity while promoting a drug-free lifestyle at the same time.
The following are the results from the games which were held at two venues, the Boys and Girls Club and at Eagle Pass Jr High School.
Students from grades 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th as well as 7th and 8th graders and high school level kids as well.
On Saturday, March 28th at the Boys and Girls Club, the Phenomenal Ballerz edged the Wolfpack 21-18 but they lost to the Shooting Stars 27-24. The Shooting Stars fell to Cumbres 20-19 at the 5th and 6th grade level while the Mavericks were downed by the Del Rio Lakers 15-10 at the 3rd and 4th grade level.
Cumbres knocked off the Phenomenal Ballerz 31-19 also at the 5th and 6th grade level.
In the high school category, it was Hoop City 46, One Six 35. In another high school matchup it was Eagle 3 over Hoop City 42-36 and the Mavericks knocked off Eagles 2 41-25. The Wolfpack and Scorpions did not play due to forfeits by the Spurs and Eagles 1 at the 5th and 6th and high school levels respectively. At the EPJ, it was the Regulators 61, Prime Time 21, the Indios forfeited to the Phenomenal Ballers, it was Prime Time 30, Wizards 27, Aguilas flew over the Cobras 26-10 and the Phenomenal Ballerz edged the Warriors 23-22 at the 7th and 8th grade level.
At the high school level it was the Phenomenal Ballerz 56, Eagles 2 35. One Six outlasted Del Rio Blue 37-32 and Del Rio White whipped the Un-Know 43-27.
