It didn’t take long for the young and talented Beast Mode basketball team to add another championship to their resume.
Beast Mode started their season by winning the 2015 Champions Invitational in San Antonio.
After several lead changes in their initial game, they fell to a very well coached Cowboys team in the end, but there was still hope.
Their second game was against the favored to win it all, the San Antonio Blazers. Blazers first displayed their talent by building a 15 point lead early on, but towards the end of the first half, a very determined Beast Mode team began to close the gap. With 3 seconds left in the half, Luis Rodriguez got the perfect pass from Allan Rodriguez and nailed a 3 pt. shot from near the half-court sideline. This gave Beast Mode a renewed sense of hope and energy, as they went into the second half trailing by only 3 points.
During the second half the young Beast Mode team really turned on the heat and ended up tiring out the Blazers to get within two. Finally, in the last seconds of the game, Matt De Alba, who had a sensational game, hit the winning three point shot to beat the Blazers by one in a 46-45 thrilling victory.
After exhausting all their energy to beat Beast Mode in their initial game, the Cowboys lost to the Tx. Champions and then to the Blazers, while Beast Mode displayed a true sense of determination to win it all by beating the favored Blazers and then storming past the Texas Champions with a commanding 57-24 victory.
At the end of the day, they were crowned champions of the 2015 Texas Invitational.
Congratulations to Coach Chavez and all the Beast Mode players and parents.
If you’re gonna go, GO BEAST MODE!!!
