Eagle Pass High School’s varsity volleyball team earned the consolation trophy at a tournament held in Floresville Friday and Saturday. Aiden Garcia was selected for the all-tournament team.
The Lady Eagles defeated San Antonio Holmes two game to one (25-18; 6-25; 25-21) during the opening round.
Individual statistics: Aiden Garcia -4 points, 10 kills, 1 solo block, 2 assisted blocks, 1 assist and 9 digs. Lauren McGehee – 6 kills, 5 assists, 1 block assist and 10 digs. Sandra Mendoza – 7 points, 3 aces, 4 kills, 1 assist and 10 digs. Lynced Torres – 11 points, 2 aces and 16 digs. Jamie Donley – 2 points, 1 assisted block, 13 assists and 9 digs. Karina Yebra – 4 points, 2 kills, 1 assisted block and 6 digs. Camille Pina – 2 points and 2 digs. Vivian Ramirez – 1 kill and 1 assisted block. Riane Garcia – 2 kills, 2 assisted blocks, 2 assists and 3 digs.
In its next game, EPHS swept Burbank in two straight games, each by a score of 25-15.
