The Swarm also have Justin Maxwell a 6' 1" guard, Scottie Payne (a 6' 2" forward out of Texas A&M International as well as Eagle Pass' very own Cristian Paredes out of Sedona Red Rock High School in Arizona by way of CC Winn High School in Maverick County.
The only setback in the entire process of getting the team to come to South Texas was the fact that they could not come to an agreement with the Eagle Pass Independent School District on a lease agreement of the Student Activity Center or even one of the high school gymnasiums to play the eight home games which included two televised ESPN games in our city.
Michael Luna, the part owner of the club who will play the Austin Boom on opening night, said he is still in talks with the school district in order to see if an agreement can be reached before season's end as at least the first half of the season will be played in Piedras Negras at the Santiago V. Gonzalez Gymnasium.
"We're very disappointed that this amazing opportunity to have this level of talent play for our kids right here in Eagle Pass will have to be taken to Piedras Negras who is embracing the team and showing a great amount of support," closed Luna who traveled to the Alamo City for the final practice before Friday's game.
The other teams in the league include the West Texas Whirlwinds, Sugarland Legend Texas, the Baytown Bandits, the Texarkana Panthers, the Louisiana Soul and the Texas Fuel.
