The Eagle Pass Eagles and the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs tangled once again as it would be the last time that Aaron Swain and Ty Chisum would meet in a district tilt.

The Eagle defense had to deal with a balanced offensive attack with experienced QB Aaron Swain spreading the love to several receivers including Travis Allen and Beto Garcia.  Running back CJ Loera was also key in the Bulldog attack as he ate up significant yards on the ground.

The 'Dogs scored first then Chisum used his superior running ability to haul the rock into the endzone in the first quarter to tie the game.

Alexander traded scores with the Eagles and then Chisum hit a streaking Joseph Barrientos on a seven route between two Bulldog defenders when the cornerback committed to taking away routes underneath as Chisum saw this and threw a laser about forty yards on a dime to hit Barrientos in stride for the 60 yard scoring strike to re-tie the game at 14.

Mark Venegas quietly had a good game and as you can see in the picture, he caused significant damage to at least two Bulldog defenders' ankles juking them almost out of their spikes on this big gainer.

It was still a game with five minutes remaining in the third quarter when both defenses stepped it up and stopped each other's offenses before Alexander proceeded to score on their last four possessions pulling away 49-14.

In another key matchup, Del Rio edged United South 14-13 further complicating playoff scenarios in District 29-AAAAAA.

Laredo United and LBJ who are both undefeated at 3-0 tangled on Friday.

The Eagles travel to Del Rio next week for their final district game.
