EPCX Lady Eagles excelling at recent meets; Border Bash this weekend

The Eagle Pass News Gram caught up with the high flyin' Eagle Pass Lady Eagles who are winning meets and taking names all across South Texas.

The top ten girls in Juan Gonzalez and Frank Vielma's Eagle Pass High School Program posed for News Gram cameras on Tuesday and they wish to inform the community of the 2014 Border Bash Cross Country Meet which will beheld this Saturday at the Eagle Pass Municipal Golf Course at 7:00 AM.

"We just came back from Zapata with two victories," said Gonzalez, "Our JV competed against CC Winn in a duel meet.  We rested our varsity last week and our JV and Freshman competed at Crystal City and brought back two more first place finishes."

Coach Gonzalez informed The News Gram that they are expecting 17 schools at the annual event.

Varsity Girls will run at 8:00 in two divisions (1A-4A & 4A-5A), Varsity Boys will start at 8:30 in two divisions, 7th Graders will run 2 miles at 9:00, 8th graders will run another two mile race at 9:30 and JV Boys and Girls will run at 10:00.

Amanda Benavides, Janelle Fernandez, Sara Moncivais, Brianna Vielma, Christina Lozano, Jezabelle Rodriguez, Suzette Salinas, Monica Rivera, Ruby Briones and Alexis Sanchez are the top ten runners on the Lady Eagle Team who also invite the community to come out and support the Eagle Pass High School and CC Winn High School Cross Country Programs.
