OJ Freeman of Border Hope informed The News Gram that they are especially looking for coaches and referees to help run the all night affair where young men will come together in a lock-in format from 11:00 PM to 8:00 AM where they will also be having a three point shootout for prizes.
"We want the whole community to get behind this," said Freeman, "It is an endeavor about raising the awareness of a healthy lifestyle and being drug-free.
They are presently looking for a centralized place to begin registering players and they will also be providing food for all of the participants and there will be motivational speakers such as San Antonio Spurs Chaplain Rich Garza and a DJ will provide all-night entertainment.
If you coached a youth basketball team this year and would like to enter your team or if you would like to get players together from several teams to make your own select basketball squad you can do so as well. The key is to get as many teams and coaches together for a highly memorable night of basketball, bonding, fellowship and good, clean fun.
If you have any experience officiating basketball, by all means make an effort to contact the organizers.
