Harlingen scratched across a run in the bottom of the second and another in the fifth, but the Eagles answered with a base hit by designated hitter Carlos Barrera who has been producing for the Eagles throughout the playoffs. Alex Martinez laid down a bunt down the first base line which he beat out for an infield hit, then both he and pinch runner Fernando Garza advanced on a throwing error putting runners on second and third. Garza came in to score on a sac fly by Gonzalez, and Martinez alertly went over to third then RJ Ruiz was first-pitch swinging lacing a single into left field to drive in the wining run and sealing the deal for the Eagles to advance to the Region IV Quarterfinals. The Eagles will square off with the Edinburgh North Bobcats at Veteran's Stadium in Laredo on Friday at 7:30. Games 2 and 3 will be at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM if needed.
