The state-ranked Bulldogs jumped on Mav ace Rica Gonzalez quickly in the top of the first with four big runs on a bases-loaded double by Rudy Gaona who took advantage of two bases on balls and hit batsman as Gonzalez hit Alex Campero, the Alexander shortstop.
The Mavericks generated some offense of their own showing the drive and youthfulness of this ball club as Juanito Garza drew a walk followed by a shot to right by Isaac Banda who was thrown out at third when Jesus Medellin hit an RBI single to centerfield.
Maverick QB Juan Elizondo came through with a two-out single to left off Bulldog starter Pablo Ortiz to make the score 4-2 after one complete inning of play.
The Bulldogs scattered eight more runs from the third to the sixth on seven hits including a two run homer by DH Damian Rodriguez which put the game out of reach and invoking the ten-run rule 12-2.
