The Lady Mavs came out swinging in the bottom of the first inning with a great double by #8, Ari Ruiz, who brought in the first run of the game. During their second time at bat, they scored 3 more runs with hits by Lessly Salinas, Cassandra Flores, and Ari Ruiz to bring the score up to 4-0 for the CC Winn Mavericks. In the bottom of the 4th the Mavs finished off the Bulldogs scoring 6 runs with an incredible in the park homerun by Ana Aguado with bases loaded. Other hits included doubles by Cassandra Flores and Ari Ruiz as well as a single by catcher Lorena Sanchez. The game ended at the top of the 5th Inning due to the 10-run-rule when the Bulldogs were unable to take on the Maverick’s defensive game.
The CC Winn Softball Team now ranked 4th in their district will be traveling to Laredo next week to take on the #2 district ranked United Longhorns on Tuesday, April 8th 2014.
