The final game of the 2014 regular season in District 29-AAAAA Girl's Soccer was held on Tuesday and the Lady Eagles were able to pull away early with precision passing and a clear strategy which paid dividends as they flew out to a 7-1 lead before a horrific situation that led to the emergency transfer of Lady Maverick forward Elizabeth Barba caused officials to call the game.

Barba was on a breakaway midway through the second half when she was tackled low by a Lady Eagle defender causing her to go head first into the turf.

Officials immediately called for medical assistance as trainers and staffs from both teams came out onto the field.

Both teams symbolically held a prayer vigil in the middle of the field as Barba was taken to Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center where she would be evaluated medically.
