In what was a relatively quiet week throughout the South Central Region, De La Cruz helped the Eagles to a pair of victories, going 2-0 from the circle with a 0.64 ERA and eight strikeouts over 11 innings, while hitting .667 (4-for-6) with a double and a RBI. During a 15-0 rout of Alexander (Texas), she tossed a one-hitter with three K’s while also going 2-for-3 at the dish. Thus far in 2014, De La Cruz is 15-3 overall with a 1.83 ERA and 73 strikeouts over 99.2 frames, while hitting .328 with three doubles, a triple and 12 RBIs.

"We always say, 'The harder you work, the luckier you get' and Krystal's working hard and things are coming around for her," stated Lady Eagle Head Coach Coca Ruiz, "She threw a one hitter in her last outing and has had a weekend of rest so we're hoping she can come back with the fire again this week."

During the fall campaign, just a single player will be selected representing all participating regions.
