There was tension in the air as the teams stepped out onto the field Tuesday night. With the Mavs on the visitor’s side, they started off the game at bat. Despite a well-timed double steal, the Lady Mavericks were unable to score against the Lady Eagles in the first two innings. Meanwhile, they Lady Eagles were able to score 5 runs against the Mavs at the bottom of the 2nd inning making the score 5-0 with a great double by #10 Monica Flores who brought in two runs.
The Mavericks were able to score at the top of the 3rd with a triple by #5 Alyssa Lopez due to an error by the Eagles bringing up the score to 5-1 for the Eagles. The Mavs were able to score again at the top of the 4th inning with two runs making the score 5-3 but struck out against the Eagles with the bases loaded for their last two outs. The game ended 5-3 for the Eagles.
The Lady Eagles now 6-0 will be playing against the Laredo Alexander Bulldogs on Friday March 21st while the Lady Mavericks travel to Del Rio to face off against the Del Rio High School Rams.
