The Eagle Pass Eagles were in Austin over the weekend participating in the Austin ISD Tournament and ran into some trouble early against Austin Nimitz after leading 3-1 for most of the game, Eagle pitching had serious control problems hitting four batters and walking five giving them four runs in the sixth inning to give the Vikings a 6-3 win.

Tony Galvan was very sharp on the mound against Hutto throwing five shutout, no-hit innings and Diego Gaona came on from behind the plate to deliver two shutout, one-hit innings to blank the Hippos 5-0. Jonathan Castañeda pitched 3 1/3, Joey Soto got out of a bases loaded jam in the 4th and big Mando Lopez had 2 K's in the last inning as the Eagles got a quality win over the Corpus Christi Moody Trojans 6-3. The Eagles had a big inning in their half of the first when Eric Gonzalez singled, Gaona reached on an error by the shortstop, Lopez was hit by a pitch, Isaac Ramirez walked in 19, then Jacoup Roiz turned in a bases-loaded single to open up the floodgates early on for the Burnt Orange and White. "We're using this tournament to get ready for district next week," stated Manager Reynol Mendoza. The Eagles open up District 29-AAAAA play next week at Alexander.
