The CC Winn Lady Mavericks had their hands full with both a stiff wind and the LBJ Lady Wolves attempting to go up top on almost every offensive sequence on Wednesday as the Wolves clung to a 1-0 lead at the half.

"LBJ was using the wind to their advantage by lifting the ball as it would go further down the field," said Head Coach Abel De Los Santos.

The Lady Mavericks came out after the break to score on a goal by freshman standout Jocelyn Lopez, but the Wolf game plan forced the Mavs to be more aggressive, thus giving the opponent clearer scoring opportunities, "We were making mistakes trapping the ball as the wind was causing it to takes strange hops," added De Los Santos, "They scored and it complicated the game for us."

Goalie Alejandra Bass had an outstanding performance with 10 big stops on shots to her goal, "She kept them from scoring more on us along with other great plays."

The final score from the Student Activity Center, LBJ 3, CC Winn 1.
