EPHS JV Golf Teams Sweep Casa Blanca Tournament in Laredo

Eagle Pass Independent School District Superintendent Samuel Mijares and Eagle Pass High School Principal Luis Huerta proudly congratulated both the Eagle Pass High School Junior Varsity Boys and Girls Golf Teams after they captured first place overall at the Casa Blanca JV Tournament held in Laredo, Texas on Thursday, October 9, 2025.

The Eagles showcased exceptional talent and teamwork throughout the competition, earning top individual and team honors in both divisions.

In the Boys Division, standout golfer Enrique Ochoa claimed the title of Tournament Champion, while Celso Garza secured an impressive 3rd Place Individual Finish. Their strong performances helped propel the team to the overall victory.

The Girls Team also delivered a dominant performance, with Akira Cortez earning Tournament Champion honors. Teammates Ivanna Martinez finished 2nd, Isabella Villarreal placed 3rd, and Hayden Gonzales rounded out the leaderboard in 4th Place, completing a clean sweep of the top four spots.

Superintendent Mijares and Principal Huerta commended the students for their dedication, discipline, and continued excellence both on and off the course.

“Way to go, Eagles!” the district announced in celebration of their outstanding achievements, bringing pride to the Eagle Pass community.
