The Eagle Pass Stars began the tournament with w literal runfest scoring 35 against Kinney County, then getting some much-needed payback against Del Rio 12-0 followed by another victory over The Queen City Stars 7-4.
B Sandoval was 4 for 4 with four runs scored, Mason Villarreal was 3 for 5 with three runs scored, Kaleb Garcia was 3 for 3 with four runs scored, Isaac Garcia was 2 for 3 with three runs scored, Leandro Mares was 2 for three with four runs scored, Joshua Montes was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and Caleb Jimenez won the game on the mound and went was 2 for 3 with two runs scored in the 35-1 game vs Kinney.
In the first game vs Del Rio, Joshua Montes went 2 for 3 with 2 RBI’s, Mason Villarreal was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s, and D Andre Daniel went 1 for 1 with 2 runs scored. Matthew Jimenez came on in relief against the hated Del Rio Stars in the championship for an inning so he hasn’t pitched much yet so he’s ready for sectionals and The Texas West State Championship which will be held on July 1st.
In the championship, Kaleb Garcia went 2 for 2 with a run scored and 2 RBI’s and Mason Villarreal went 1 for 2 with two runs scored and one RBI.
