When it all was said and done in this year’s Texas State Baseball Tournament, the chips fell where they did and while several area teams made it to the Big Show, not all of our favorites raised the plaque.

In the words of a great reporter, “That’s why they play the games.”

In the 6-A Championships, Westlake fell to Pearland 11-1 in six innings as did Cypress Woods to Lewisville Flower Mound 6-3. Then in the State Championship game, Lewisville took Pearland’s pitching staff to school in a close game winning 6-4.

In 5-A Borne Champion fell to Argyle 5-2 and Magnolia West beat Frisco Reedy 3-0 then edged Argyle 3-2 in the ‘Ship.

In 4-A Sinton fell to China Spring 8-4 in 12 innings while Canyon Randall lost to Texarkana Liberty-Eylau 15-5. Then in the championship it was another nail-biter when China Spring won State 3-2 in another 12 inning marathon.

In 3-A. It was Boyd over Maypearl 8-7 and Corpus Christi London losing to Was 5-1. Then Boyd knocked off Wall 6-4 to take the title.

In 2-A action, Shiner ten-run ruled New Home 11-0 and Harelton beat 4-3. Then it was Harleton 10-5 over Shiner.

And in 1-A, Naszareth lost to Fayetteville 4-0 and Abbott edged Kennard 5-4 then it was Abbott 6, Fayetteville 5 to take the championship by the minimal margin.

See you all next year baseball fans!
